Wittnauer Skin Diver 4000

Here is a fabulous and rare all original Wittnauer Skin Diver 4000 from the mid sixties in a very large size for the era. The black dial is in very fine condition with very few signs of wear. It has yellow lume triangles at the poles and lume stripes for the hours in between. Some degradation of the lume can be seen. The baton hands have the same original lume and are in very fine condition. The seconds hand has a rectangular lume-filled tip to make it easier to see. The 3 o’clock window displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 19:30 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.
 
The rotatable stainless steel bezel with a large lume dot at 0 is in fine condition with light overall wear. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and brushed sides and is in very fine condition, with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a radially brushed finish and a few small marks and scratches.
 
The watch comes on an after market rubber diver strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, Wittnauer’s high grade C11KS movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in January 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
