Seiko Mono-pusher Chronograph
Here is a lovely and very rare, all original Seiko Mono-pusher Chronograph from 1967. The silver sunburst dial is in fine condition, with black lettering and faceted steel block hour markers with lume squares at the inner ends, a special marker at 12 o’clock. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial and some more noticeable wear around its center. These look much more pronounced in up close pictures than to the naked eye. The single pusher chronograph is operated with the pusher at 2 o’clock. The first push starts the chronograph seconds hand, the second push stops the hand and the third push resets the hand. Note that there is no actual running seconds hand on the watch but the chronograph seconds hand can be used as one if desired. The faceted dauphine hands with the original lume are in very fine condition.
The bidirectionally rotatable bakelite bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear. The stainless steel case with faceted batman lugs and the original crown and pusher is in very fine condition, with a few marks throughout, most notable at the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with the Seiko seahorse at its center and only light overall wear.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5719A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2021 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The Seiko Chronograph was first introduced in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics to showcase the technical achievement of the Japanese watch industry. It is a wonderful piece of watch history and is a watch that will add nicely to any vintage collection.
Our watches are delivered in a luxury wooden watch box, fully serviced with a 12 month warranty that covers the mechanical functioning of the watch under normal use. We offer 14 days full return rights and are very proud of our reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction.
