King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat

Here is a lovely, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat from 1974. The silver sunburst dial is in fine condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and steel strip hour markers with black contrast, double at 12 o’clock. There are a few marks around the dial, most notably around the KS logo and the date window. The faceted dauphine hands are in very fine condition. When the crown is pulled out to set time, the hack stops the seconds hand for more accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.
 
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear. The angular 7000 series stainless steel case with integrated lugs and the original KS crown is in fine condition with some overall wear, most pronounced on the left side. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition with a few scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
 
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5625B movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2021 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
