King Seiko 45KS Hi-Beat 36000 bph

Here is a wonderful, all original King Seiko 45KS from 1970. The silver linen dial is in fine condition, with a steel Seiko logo and black strip hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. There is a discoloration spot around 5-6 o’clock and slight wear at the edge of the dial at around 1 o’clock. The faceted dauphine hands with the characteristic black center stripes are in very fine condition. The hack stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to set the time.
 
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear. The large and angular stainless case with the original KS crown is in very fine condition with just a few marks, most pronounced a small nick at the upper left lug. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved gold KS medallion and is in very fine condition, with just a few small marks.
 
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 4500A movement beats strongly and accurately at the then insane rate of 36000 bph to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
