Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronometer

Here is a fabulous and rare fully original Omega Seamaster Chronometer from 1969. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel hour markers with black contrast, double at 12 o’clock. There are a few tiny marks scattered around the dial, all of which are difficult to see with the naked eye. The steel dauphine hands with the original black contrast are in fine condition, with light corrosion visible under magnification. The original crystal has a cyclops eye over the steel framed window at 3 o’clock, which shows the date. The date can be semi quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. The wide stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy lugs is in fine condition with a few small marks, mostly at the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a well preserved hippocampus logo in its center and just a few nicks and marks.
 
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, Omega’s perhaps best movement ever, the 564, beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
 
Chronometer versions of the Seamaster are rare, and this reference with the wide bezel is a find. This is a watch that will fit into any vintage collection while also being a watch that can be worn as part of a regular rotation schedule.
