Omega Constellation Chronometer

Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation Chronometer from 1962. The crosshair silver sunburst dial has a golden Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star. It has taken on a slight and even patina and has a scatter of tiny corrosions spots. It has golden bar hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, double at 12 o’clock. There are a few small marks around a few of the hour markers, such as at 1, 2, 5 and 7 o’clock. The golden dauphine hands with the original lume are in very fine condition. The golden framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.
 
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 4 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy teardrop lugs is in fine condition with just a few marks, mostly at the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a slightly worn gold Geneva observatory medallion and just a few scratches and marks.
 
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2021 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
 
Constellations are fabulous and very collectible watches, and this early model looks great on the wrist with its fabulous dial and lugs and overall condition. This is a watch that will add to any vintage collection and regular rotation schedule.
