Omega Jumbo Constellation Chronometer

Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation Chronometer from 1962 in a rare Jumbo size. The silver sunburst dial has taken on a gentle and even patina and is in very fine condition, with a few tiny corrosion bubbles scattered around the dial. It has a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star and steel hour markers with black onyx inlay. At the poles are fabulously detailed steel arrow tail hour markers with black onyx inlay. The dauphine hands with black contrast are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly turning the hands through midnight, then backwards through 20:30 and then through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.
 
The wide stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with just very light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original crown and lovely drop shaped lugs is in very fine condition, with only a few small marks at the lugs and a small scratch on the left side. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a well preserved gold Geneva observatory medallion and a few light scratches.
 
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2021 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
 
Constellations are great watches in their own right, and the wonderful dial on this one combined with the large size makes it a true joy to own and wear. This is a watch that will put a small on your face.
