Omega Automatic

Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Automatic from 1958 in a large size for that era. The two tone dial has taken on a warm and even patina nicely matching the case, It is in very fine condition, with a golden Omega logo and just a few tiny spots around the center of the dial. The radially brushed chapter ring has golden “spaceship” hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends and golden Arabic numerals at the poles. The golden dauphine hands have the original lume and are in fine condition with some marks on the seconds hand.
 
The gold filled bezel is in fine condition, with a few marks throughout, perhaps most notable at the top half. The gold plated case with the original crown and elegantly curved lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear. The case back has an engraving showing that the watch was originally presented as a work award, apparently from grateful employees to a manager.
 
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 500 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2021 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
 
This is one of those watches that really embodies the term vintage, with a classic design and feel on the wrist, yet with a larger size than most watches from that era. It is a wonderful watch for those special occasions and a real conversation starter.
