Longines Admiral HF 28800 bph

Here is a beautiful, all original Longines Admiral HF from 1972. The blue sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a white script lettering and the winged hourglass logo. It has steel chevron hour markers, wider markers with lume dots at the outer ends at the poles. There are a few small marks around the dial and some discoloration spots around the tips of some of the hour markers such as at 7, 8 and 9 o’clock. The hour and minute baton hands are in fine condition with the original lume and white contrast while the seconds hand is painted white. The white contrast shows some cracking.
 
The stainless steel case with the original crown and integrated lugs is in overall very fine condition. The watch face continues the sunburst pattern of the dial and shows a few shallow scratches. The polished case sides show only minor wear. This watch has a very cool hack feature: when the crown is pulled out the seconds hand runs to midnight/zero and then stops until the crown is pushed back in. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a radial pattern and a few marks and scratches.
 
The watch comes on the original steel bracelet, which is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. It is large enough for big wrists.
 
Inside the watch, Longines high grade 6942 movement ticks away at a for the era very high frequency of 28800 beats per hour, beating strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
