King Seiko 1st generation Special Dial

Here is a fabulous , all original 1st generation King Seiko from 1963. The brushed silver “Special dial” dial has taken on a wonderful bronze patina and looks spectacular, with wide and chunky solid gold hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. There are a few marks around the dial, perhaps most notable just below the King Seiko logo and at the 7 and 11 o’clock hour markers. The faceted golden dauphine hands are in very fine condition.
 
The 14K gold filled bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The 14K gold filled case with the original crown and elegant, long lugs is in fine condition, with some overall wear both at the lugs and on the sides. The 14K gold filled case back has a well preserved gold shield medallion and is in very fine condition with light overall wear.
 
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade KS movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
 
The first generation KS with the Special Dial is not easy to find anymore and it is easy to see why. The clean and classic design coupled with the historic importance of the watch makes this a wonderful watch to wear as part of a regular rotation schedule.
