IWC Vintage Dress Watch

Here is a fabulous, all original IWC dress watch from 1963. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a steel block IWC logo with the script logo underneath. It has steel strip hour markers, triple at 12 o’clock and double at the other poles, with the characteristic steel spheres marking the minutes. Under magnification, a few of the hour markers show some corrosion. The steel sword hands are in very fine condition. At 3 o’clock, the steel framed window displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by moving the hands first through midnight so the date changes, then backwards to 23:45 and then through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.
 
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most noticeable at around 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case with wonderfully curved lugs and the original fish crown is in fine condition, with some overall wear, perhaps most notable a scratch at the upper left lug. The brushed stainless steel case back is in very fine condition apart from a few marks at the rim.
 
The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality.
 
Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 8541 movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in February 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
