IWC Vintage Automatic Cal 854B

Here is a wonderful, all original IWC caliber 854B from 1970. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with a steel IWC block logo and steel bar hour markers, double bars at the poles. There is a scatter of small corrosion spots that are difficult to see with the naked eye but add up to a gentle and even patina. The steel lance hands are in very fine condition. The hack stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to time-setting mode, to facilitate more accurate time setting.
 
The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition, with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original fish crown and faceted heavy lugs is in overall very fine condition, apart from some noticeable scratches on the left side and some smaller marks at the lugs. The case back is in very fine condition, with a brushed center and a polished rim with very few marks overall.
 
Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 854B movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2020 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
