Clebar Diver Chronograph

Here is a wonderful and rare, all original Clebar Diver Chronograph from 1967 in a large size. The inverse panda dial is in fine condition, with white lettering and large steel block hour markers with lume stripes down the middle. There is a scatter of corrosion bubbles around the dial and the silver subdials have taken on a slight and even patina. The 3 o’clock subdial shows the chronograph minute counter and the 9 o'clock sub-dial shows the running seconds. The central seconds hand shows the chronograph seconds count.
 
The rotatable black bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The brushed stainless steel case with the original screw-down crown and pushers is in very fine condition, with light overall wear, in particular on the left case side. The brushed stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with some scratches and marks.
 
The watch comes on an after market rubber diver strap of good quality. Note that vintage divers watches are not suitable for actual diving!
 
Inside the watch, the venerable Landeron 248 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
 
Clebar was a Zodiac sub-brand for racing and sports watches, focusing almost exclusively on chronographs. They made some very memorable watches, which the cool shape and design of this watch is testament to.
