Chronosport Chronosail Regatta Chronograph

Here is a near mint, all original Chronosport Chronosail regatta timer from 1995. The blue dial is in excellent condition, with a white Chronosport logo and lettering and barely any marks. It has a ship’s wheel shaped white chapter ring with steel handle shaped markers for the hours. The green and red markings for the last 10 minutes are for a regatta countdown. The rehaut contains lume hour markers, of which there is a tiny chip on the smaller dot at the right side of the 12 o’clock marker. The sword hour and minute hands have the same lume as the rehaut and are in very fine condition. The watch has an unsual double minute chronograph counter hand with the yellow hand pointing to the regatta start and the white hand pointing at 12 o’clock. The white central seconds hand is the  chronograph seconds counter.
 
The stainless steel bezel has a radial brushing and is in very fine condition with only very light overall wear. The vertically brushed stainless steel case with the original crown and pushers is in very fine condition, with only very light overall wear. The brushed stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean Chronosport logo engraving and is in very fine condition with just a few marks.
 
The watch comes on a new Nato strap, matching the rugged design of the watch.
 
Inside the watch, the high grade Lemania 5270 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The Chronosport brand was started by Helmut Sinn after he sold off his own company, and this watch shows some of the same thinking. It’s a very solidly built sports watch that looks great on the wrist.
