For the love of watches
There is just something about a mechanical watch and vintage ones in particular that cannot be replicated by quartz or smart-watches. Sure, a smartwatch may be capable of checking your heart-rate and notify you of mails, but the fine engineering and craftsmanship involved in making a mechanical watch is more like art than it is construction work.
Add to that a history of 50 or 60 years, and what you wear on your wrist is no longer just something that keeps time, it becomes part of your identity. Men generally do not have too many items of adornment, so strapping a vintage mechanical watch on your wrist is one of the few ways we can wear something beautiful. And once you start collecting, it does not stop easily!
